Within the Health and Care Administration, primary care, dental care, and hospital care are gathered in a common administration and organized into county and local care areas. The Skellefteå local care area includes the Emergency Department, Medical and Geriatric Clinic, Rehabilitation Center, Psychiatric Clinic, 1177, the Center for Surgical Activities, as well as primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö. Together, these units strive to provide good and accessible care.

Primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö consists of 12 health centers distributed across three base units. Each base unit is led by a unit manager with overall responsibility and department managers for each health center. In addition to the health centers, we also have a mobile primary care team operated in collaboration with Skellefteå Municipality, as well as a vaccination clinic.

We are now seeking a Medical Director (MLA) who wishes to focus on overarching medical management issues for primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö, together with all engaged employees in our operations. We offer a full-time MLA position, with clinical work according to agreement at Heimdall Health Center. Within primary care, we work closely together to provide our citizens with good and equitable care. As a Medical Director, you are a vital cog in this effort.

The position is located at Heimdall Health Center, situated in the heart of Skellefteå with close proximity to a wide range of restaurants and cultural offerings. There is also easy access to green areas along the river running through the city and at Vitberget, an outdoor area with a ski slope within the city.

Heimdall Health Center is a workplace with 35–40 employees where diversity is a given among both staff and registered patients. Currently, approximately 12,000 patients are registered with us. Responsibilities

As a district physician and MLA with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure.

The position combines work as a district physician at Heimdall Health Center with the assignment as MLA.

As a district physician, you meet patients of all ages with a wide variety of health conditions and assess and treat them independently as well as in team collaboration with other professions. The work as a district physician includes following individuals over time and considering the person's entire life situation in the medical assessment.

In the role of MLA for primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö, you work closely with department managers and unit managers on overarching quality and patient safety issues and are part of the base units' patient safety teams. You provide medical advice from an overarching perspective. You are part of the medical leadership and coordinate, lead, and support the medically responsible physician at each health center. You collaborate with colleagues within both primary care and hospital care.

Your areas of responsibility as MLA include strategic development of working methods and routines. You support department managers in developing competence development plans for district physicians and assist in planning overarching training based on primary care needs. The position includes mentoring of trainee physicians and students who will become future colleagues.

On-call duty in the primary care on-call service is included in the position.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed physician with specialist competence in general practice. It is an asset if you have extensive experience as a district physician and/or experience in medical management assignments.

You are meticulous, take great responsibility for your work and workplace, and are confident in your profession. You can work both independently and in a team and have good social competence. We believe you are a curious and creative person who is happy to try new approaches and working methods. You have an interest in medical leadership in primary care.

Primary care in Skellefteå is on a development journey towards the primary care of the future, and we are looking for someone who shares their reflections, experiences, and perspectives. Critical thinking and a positive attitude therefore go hand in hand.

Swedish level C is a requirement. It is an asset if you hold a B driver's license.
